Portal (2002)
Portal was a media/performance
piece incorporating dance and video.
This work deals with communication between people engaged
in crossings and transitions. The dance performance space
was divided into three channels, with a video screen suspended
at one end. Animated, processed footage adapted from dance
imagery was projected on the screen, combined with a scrolling
backdrop derived from the actual text of the U.S. Immigration
and Nationality Act.
